Lovely Little Note…

“And none will hear the postman’s knock without a quickening of the heart.”

-W.H. Auden

Whose heart doesn’t skip a beat with the arrival of a lovely little note in the mail? In a world of emails, texts and emojis, it has become increasingly rare to open a  handwritten letter.

Just this morning I came across an article in Real Simple about the lost art of old-fashioned niceties that need to return. According to the article, research has found that picking up our pens can help boost our memories and reduce depression, and this does not even take into account the happiness created for the mail recipient.

While I wish I was more diligent with my correspondence I do try to send thank you notes and birthday greetings. I truly delight in finding the perfect birthday or holiday card for friends and relatives.

Here are some of my favorite card and stationery lines to inspire your next lovely little note:  Trader Joe’s Gourmet Greetings // Pink Bow Fold Over Note Cards // Sugar Paper Thank You // Welcome Little One by OneCanoeTwo // Drop Me a Line Calling Cards by Minted
