“I believe in pink.” -Audrey Hepburn
Springtime is wonderful for so many reasons including the return of rosé season. To me there is nothing more delightful than a chilled, dry rosé on a warm evening. And its lovely pale pink hue makes it even more enjoyable.
Rosé is made by lightly crushing red wine grapes and then leaving them for a period of time before straining out the juice to ferment. According to Wine Folly, rosé can be produced anywhere in the world not just a particular region; however, French rosé is most well-known. Another nice thing about rosé is that you can get a very good bottle for a very reasonable price since it is a relatively young wine. To that end, here are a few shades of pink to pour this spring.
On May 15 from noon until 4 p.m. City Roots is hosting a Rosé Festival featuring food, live jazz and 100 different types of rosé. It sounds like a very fun afternoon.
