A Lovely Little Platter…

This has been a busy week of celebrations- Mother’s Day followed by my birthday, and yesterday was my mother’s birthday. Little Lovely and I wanted to make something special for her, so we headed to the Mad Platter.

The pottery studio offers a huge selection of items ready to be painted- from platters to garden gnomes. The talented and  knowledgable staff is eager to assist in bringing your ideas to life. All you need to bring is your imagination!

Eloise and I selected a pretty vase, and we decided to decorate it with her handprints turned into flowers. She loved feeling the paint on her tiny fingers.  I was very impressed with how accommodating the studio was to children- quickly bringing over a high chair for Little Lovely so she could watch as I finished up the piece. As we worked, we saw other children and families happily creating their masterpieces.

While you’re welcome to paint any way you’d like I was interested to learn that the expert artists at the studio can help with custom designs (note that there is a 2-week turn around on these items).Eloise was quite pleased with the finished product. She’s wearing Pink gingham bow shorts and Crochet t-shirt by Little English.

After a few days, we received a call that  the vase was ready. We picked it up, filled it with some cheerful pink tulips and delivered to our Nonni. I think it was a successful birthday gift! In addition to stopping by the studio, you can enlist the Mad Platter to make a special Stork Visit. We did just that, and someone from the store came to our hospital room when Eloise was born to get her lovely little footprints on a special plate that is now displayed in her nursery. This makes a wonderful gift for expectant parents.

And if you’re looking for some fun for your children this summer, consider the Mad Platter’s camps with daily and week-long options.
