June 1 and it’s officially summertime! In preparation for a new season, I recently spent some time cleaning out my closet and getting organized. This included working with Faith Pope and her new online consignment venture, Top Drawer. The curated site features beautiful, previously loved items from select designers and brands. While editing my wardrobe I also considered this season’s latest trends and what items I might add for summer. One that has grown on me is the off the shoulder look. As a new mom, I wasn’t sure if this would be a functional style for me, but I have found a few tops and dresses that are cute and appropriate.
And although shoulder-baring pieces seem fresh for 2016 the look has been around for a very long time. In fact, dresses revealing a lady’s graceful neck became en vogue during the 19th century.
