A Lovely Little Snow Day…

“Oh the weather outside is frightful

But the fire is so delightful,

And we’ve really no place to go,

So, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!”

All week long, forecasters tempted us with the idea of the white stuff, but somehow I just couldn’t believe we would happen especially since we were playing outside just days before in the warm sunshine.

Saturday morning we woke up to some freezing temperatures and grey clouds but no snow yet. Even without snow we decided it would make it our first family snow day spent staying cozy indoors.

Jody pulled out the special Mickey Mouse waffle maker I gave him for Christmas (since we all enjoyed the Mickey waffles on our Disney trip) and whipped up some breakfast.  They were a big hit with Little Lovely! With full tummies we set to work making a fire and continued checking the weather report and looking out the window to spy some potential flakes. Around mid morning, a very light powder began sprinkling, and Eloise rushed to the window to watch with delight. We knew the snow wouldn’t last long so we decided to bundle up and take a walk.

Eloise was weather ready in her Peppa boots and adorable knit hat that we won last year from Belles and Beaus Children’s Boutique.     It might have only been a dusting, but it was still Eloise’s first official snow.

The rest of the day was for staying warm by the fire, finishing up our latest Netflix binge, The OA, and diving into a new thriller, The Couple Next Door. And I joined a few neighborhood gals for a brisk walk to stretch our legs after being cooped up inside.

How did you spend your snow day?
