A Lovely Little Green…

Did you know that blue was originally the color associated with St. Patrick’s Day? Blue was assigned to the Order of St. Patrick in the 18th century, but over time, the Roman Catholic feast day has evolved to become a more secular holiday observed all over the world. And revelers now don green when celebrating as a symbol of Irish heritage and the Emerald Isle.

Our city will be turning green this weekend when the Five Points St. Pat’s Festival gets underway offering food, music, crafts and more. We’re looking forward to taking Little Lovely to the Devine Street parade in the morning, and later in the day, my cousin, Gilmore Oliphant, will be performing on the main stage with his Charleston, S.C., based rock band, Moose Kick.

No matter how you spend the day, be sure to wear your favorite shade of green or else you might receive a Leprechaun’s pinch! Here are a few ideas for mommy and mini:

{Lucy Dress by LaRoque Mini // Monogrammed Shamrock ruffle tee by Southern Smocked Company // Persian Green Queen earrings available locally at The Blake (which is hosting a Girls night tonight from 4-7 p.m. featuring four unique jewelry lines) // Carrie Cami in Emerald by J.Crew (25% off sale online with code: BYEWINTER and in store at J.Crew Trenholm Plaza) // Lisi Lerch tassel earrings in kiwi available at Just the Thing // Betty B top in Mint by LaRoque}

Wishing you the luck of the Irish šŸ€
