A Lovely Little Green…

Did you know that blue was originally the color associated with St. Patrick’s Day? Blue was assigned to the Order of St. Patrick in the 18th century, but over time, the Roman Catholic feast day has evolved to become a more secular holiday observed all over the world. And revelers now don green when celebrating as a symbol of Irish heritage and the Emerald Isle.

Our city will be turning green this weekend when the Five Points St. Pat’s Festival gets underway offering food, music, crafts and more. We’re looking forward to taking Little Lovely to the Devine Street parade in the morning, and later in the day, my cousin, Gilmore Oliphant, will be performing on the main stage with his Charleston, S.C., based rock band, Moose Kick.

No matter how you spend the day, be sure to wear your favorite shade of green or else you might receive a Leprechaun’s pinch! Here are a few ideas for mommy and mini:
