A Lovely Little Flower Girl…

A little lady carries flowers

And brings a small bouquet.

She helps celebrate

A joyful wedding day.

She is a princess in her gown,

A picture come to life.

She brings such joy in helping

Become a man and wife.

This weekend, one of my oldest and dearest friends, Leah McKee, married the love of her life, and Eloise was asked to be a flower girl. For months we’ve talked about the big occasion and practiced walking slowly, smiling and sprinkling petals. All three flower girls were absolutely adorable as they successfully made their way down the aisle.

What made the wedding personally touching was the setting of the ceremony, The Dorothy Walker Memorial Chapel at Hammond School. Leah and I met in first grade at Hammond and spent twelve years there together building our strong friendship and thinking about our futures. Watching my childhood friend all grown up find her happiness is definitely the stuff of little girls’ dreams, and I know that one day my little girl will fondly recall this special event.

Best wishes, Mr. and Mrs. Wicevic!
