Finding time to connect with friends is a rare treat during this busy stage of life, so last week was very special as I got to have dinner with two of my dearest childhood friends sharing stories, laughter and advice. Then I joined my closest college girlfriends for the weekend in the lovely setting of Kiawah Island.
Close to 17 years ago, we arrived on Duke University’s campus to start our freshman year and quickly became acquainted. Maybe we were initially drawn to each other since we share southern roots and sensibilities. Over the years, we’ve celebrated weddings, careers and now babies. At each stage, our friendship develops new layers, and I cherish their support and love.
