“What is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it.”
-Yves Saint Laurent
This fashion motto makes me think of my dynamic friend, AnnaBelle LaRoque, who has been designing beautiful, flattering and feminine dresses and tops for more than a decade at her eponymous boutique on Columbia’s fashion corridor, Devine Street.
This week, LaRoque opens the doors of its new, expanded location at 2816 Devine Street, featuring beautiful, original designs as well as accessories, jewelry and gift items.
AnnaBelle’s pieces are timeless, incorporating vibrant colors, fabrics and patterns that are influenced by her love of travel and art. She’s been featured in Southern Living and The New York Times and has gained a strong following as her label is carried at boutiques across the southeast. She’s also expanded her line with LaRoque Mini, a whimsical collection of dresses for little girls inspired by her darling daughter.
LaRoque is a go-to when I’m looking for something special- whether it’s a perfectly pink dress for my baby shower or a glamorous gala frock. In fact, 11 years ago, she made a lovely wrap that I threw over my shoulders as my husband and I left our wedding reception. And now Eloise and I pop by the shop together to browse and visit.
AnnaBelle adds her personal touch to the shopping experience as she carefully wraps your new “treasures” and sends you off with a hug.
Pop by the new shop to see the beautiful spring collection or shop the website – I know you’ll find something lovely!
