Lovely Halloween Prep…

“When witches go riding & black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ’tis near Halloween!” – Anonymous

October is creeping upon us even though the summer temperatures are still brewing in South Carolina. Halloween has always been a favorite holiday to celebrate full of magic and whimsy, and now having a four year old daughter who loves dressing up makes it even more enchanting!

To get a jump on the holiday, we have put out the pumpkins and spooky decor, and I curated a list in my Amazon Storefront to offer some frightful finds, including costumes, gifts and party supplies perfect for classroom celebrations or a “ghouls’ night.”

Here’s another tip for moms, Freeform will begin its 31 Nights of Halloween on Oct. 1 with a packed line-up of not so scary movies for kids. It’s a great time to set the DVR and stockpile family classics. I know that I can’t wait for Hocus Pocus! Fellow fans of Mary, Sarah and Winifred Sanders, check out this adorable mug by Sophie and Lilli. Fall must for sipping pumpkin spice coffee.

If you’re ready to begin the Halloween fun this weekend, one of our favorite, local events begins today at The South Carolina State Museum including a walk down the yellow brick road through Oz, a 4-D movie experience, Skies Over Oz planetarium show and meet and greet with characters every Saturday through November 3.

We have attended the last few years with our lovely little Dorothy and thoroughly enjoyed the Emerald City!

Have a “boo-tiful” weekend!
