A Lovely Lowcountry Holiday Kickoff…

“On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: A Seagull Perched in a Palm Tree” – Minta Pavliscsak

The holidays are starting early everywhere it seems even in the Lowcountry. This weekend we made a quick trip to our happy place at Litchfield Beach to soak up some warmer weather and attend the Christmas kickoff at the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island.

Baby Barrett got to see the beach a little closer than her first trip in July, and big sis had the best time collecting shells!

The Hammock Shops have grown into a lively retail center since the original store opened in 1938, and they pulled out all the stops for a festive event this year. The girls visited with Santa and other Christmas characters like Elsa and The Grinch. There was live music, crafts, and treats leading up to the tree lighting.

We ended the evening with dinner at Frank’s Outback, a favorite spot especially during the fall when the fireplace is lit.

Even a short time by the sea, energizes me, and as we head into Thanksgiving week, I’m so thankful for our family and every adventure we share.
