A Lovely Little Sunshine ☀️

“Keep your face toward the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow”- Helen Keller

It feels like it’s been raining for weeks on end, so the bright sunshine today was very welcomed, especially if you’re a mommy like me who has used up all creative crafts and indoor projects. Sunshine plus the start of the weekend are two good reasons to be excited. Here are our top five sunny afternoon activities to offer some “sun-spiration.”

1. Park Play date…

When the weather is nice, we make a beeline to our local park after school. It’s a perfect place to let big sister run out some energy while baby enjoys the swings. There are a few great options in town, and it seems that we always run into friends and make new ones too.

2. Zoo outing…

On sunny weekends, Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens is a top destination. We are fortunate to live in a city with one of the best zoos in the country, and a pretty afternoon is best time to stroll around the exhibits making sure to stop for a carousel and train ride too.

3. I scream, you scream!

Nothing better on a sunny day than a cone of ice cream as an afternoon snack. It’s a great treat at the end of the week to celebrate. Eloise loves vanilla with sprinkles.

4. Neighborhood walk

With spring about to bloom it’s my favorite time to get outside in our neighborhood. Whether strolling or bike riding, we’re always on the move, and an added bonus is meeting up with our sweet neighbors to play.

5. Backyard is best!

The easiest and sometimes most fun thing to do when the sun is shining is right in our backyard. Swinging on the play set, using our imagination in the playhouse or just laying on the lawn, we have made so many memories right here at home.

Get outside and embrace the ☀️,
