A Lovely Little Afternoon Tea…

“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea” -Henry James

Today a dream came true…taking my Little Lovely to her first afternoon tea. As part of our special mommy and Eloise day in Charleston, we had reservations for tea at Camellia’s at our hotel, Hotel Bennett. All week, Eloise asked how many days until our special trip, so we were ready and waiting to be seated in the beautiful, pink dining room.

We ordered the Peter Rabbit tea for Eloise with yummy selections like turkey and cheese pinwheel, Nutella and banana sandwich and fruit kebab along with her first cup of Chamomile tea and plenty of honey.

I chose the Pantone “color of the year” tea, which is a lovely shade of blue and tastes of floral and berry notes.

While our tea steeped, we enjoyed a variety of scones and the ambiance- lots of friends celebrating birthdays, bachelorettes and even some other mothers and daughters.

With boxed up leftovers and memories made, we set off for some King Street shopping. The highlight of the day was a comment from Eloise that would melt any mommy’s heart – “you know the best part of today? Getting you all to myself!” I felt the same way and will cherish our afternoon forever.
